The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, established in 1987, offers UG and PG programs. The Department offers the undergraduate programme of BTech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering with an intake of 120. The Department has well-qualified, passionate, dedicated faculty and has a well-connected alumni network. With the state-of-the art Laboratory in Power Electronics, Control Systems, Power Systems, Computers and High Voltage & Relay, which caters to the need of all the Electrical & Electronics Engineering students. With an excellent rapport and MoU with industries, the Department is organizes seminars, conferences and workshops on a regular basis to cope up with the recent trends in the technological field.

  • At the end of BTech in EEE program, the student will be able to

    PO1: Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics,science,engineering fundamentals,and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • PO2: Problem analysis: Identify,formulate,review research literature,and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics,natural sciences,and engineering sciences.
  • PO3: Design/development of solutions:Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety,and the cultural,societal,and environmental considerations.

The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering is an established Research Centre under VTU Belagavi since the year 2007 offering Ph.D programmes both Part-Time and Full-Time. So far, five candidates have completed Ph.D and eleven candidates have registered for Ph.D under the centre. From the year 2022-23 Ph.D degree is awarded by Nitte University. The department has three of the faculty members recognized as VTU approved Research Supervisors with diverse research background and exposure, who are dedicated in fulfilling the varied research aspirations of the prospective researchers.

Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering takes the following measures towards campus placements:

  • Placement training is conducted for second year and third year students on General Aptitude Test , C programming and Technical Test.
  • Elixir – Hobby project exhibition: Students work on projects to demonstrate fundamental concepts and real-time applications to improve the technical skills.
  • Prior to the placement drive, mock interviews and resume screening are undertaken with final-year students.
  • Regular Alumni Interactions are organized to link department with new companies.
  • Industry equivalent internships are conducted in the Centre for Design of Power ElectronicSystems Laboratory of the department for interested students to get acquainted with industry culture.
