Cyber Security

TThe MTech in Cyber Security program started in the year 2022 under the department of Computer Science and Engineering, with an intake of 18 students.Cybersecurity provides an unrivalled opportunity to work in a dynamic atmosphere while being well-compensated, so it is a good career opportunity for students and professionals who are inclined towards pursuing a career in technology and cybersecurity.Cyber Security has become business-critical for every organization. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that the employment of information security analysts will grow 31 percent from 2019 to 2029.A lack of skilled professionals continues to haunt India that needs about 1 million cybersecurity professionals, according to an estimate by the Data Security Council of India.

In the first semester of the proposed MTech course in Cyber Security, students will undergo practical trainingon: Cyber Security and Forensics, Cloud security and IOT Security, Ethical Hacking and Network Defense, Security Analytics, Design and implementation of various cyber security tools. In the second semester, students will undergo practical training on: Analysis of Firewall & UTM architecture, Malware Analysis and Detection, Security and Resilience analysis, Applying Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence on Cyber security, Penetration testing & incident response and opportunity to learn Advanced topics in cyber security and Forensics.

This MTech course will be taught jointly by faculties of NMAMIT, Nitte and Industry experts from PurpleSynapzLab. There are many opportunities for the students for internships during the second year of MTech course.

  • PSO1. Acquire the knowledge of logical reasoning and subject fundamentals pertaining to Cyber Security concepts
  • PSO2. Apply the concepts of security in cloud computing architecture and adhere to ethical security behaviour focusing IT compliance and Integrity.

During second year of MTech, the students will be placed in various companies for the Internships for one year.

Companies specializing in IT or cybersecurity are constantly hiring skilled Cyber Security professionals. Numerous public and private companies are in urgent need for these professionals for their IT or cybersecurity departments.
