M. Tech (Machine Design) or Master of Technology in Machine Design is a prominent post graduate discipline in the Mechanical Engineering Department. Machine Design is the process of engineering design which includes computer-aided design and manufacturing. Design of any mechanical equipment requires a fundamental knowledge of strength of materials and vibration behavior. Students here, learn about design and analysis of mechanical components through experiments and simulations. This specialization is a gateway for Design, Analysis and simulation, Aerospace Industry, Automotive Design, Automation, and Robotics streams. The core courses in Machine Design specialization includes Computational Methods in Engineering, Finite Element Methods and its Applications, Continuum Mechanics, Mechanical Vibration, and Fatigue of materials. Further students can opt to choose elective courses such as Fracture analysis, Fatigue and failure analysis, Mechanism Design, Experimental stress Analysis, Mechatronics system design, etc. The Students also get exposure to Modelling and Analysis labs using Creo-Parametric and Ansys software, Simulation of problems through MATLAB & Simulink, Design of electro-hydraulic and pneumatic and PLC Controlled hydraulic circuits for different real word applications. The past Machine Design students have been able to get placed in companies and reputed national level research laboratories for Internships.
To produce Mechanical engineers of the highest quality who are professionally competent and highly qualified to suit the needs of industries and organizations by promoting excellence in teaching, learning and research.
MISSIONThe Dept. of Mechanical Engineering is committed to
At the end of M.Tech in Machine Design Program Students will have
