1. College Athletic team members, Ms. Suma, 1I Sem/MBA & Mr. Sandesh Naik, VI Sem/CSE, represented in VTU athletics team and participated in All India Inter University Athletic Championship organized by RGUHS, Bengaluru at Alva’s Education Foundation, Moodabidri through 2 - 6 January 2020.

2. Mr. Akshay Shettigar, VIII Sem/ISE, represented the VTU Power Lifting team and participated in All India Inter University Power Lifting (Men) competition held at Mumbai University, Mumbai through 27 - 31 January 2020.

3.Mr. Praveen Kumar D, VIII Sem/ECE, represented VTU Ball Badminton team and participated in All India Inter University Ball Badminton competition held at Mangalore University, Mangaluru through 29 January - 1 February 2020.

4. Ms. Kruthi Rao, VIII Sem/EEE, participated in All India Inter University Softball competition held at Punjabi University, Patiala, Punjab through 4 - 7 March 2020.

5. College Cross Country Men and women teams secured overall championship and also won the Champions trophies in VTU Inter Collegiate Single Zone Cross Country men & women championship held at TTIT, Kolar through 24 - 25 February 2020.

6. College Kho Kho men’s team were the Runner Up in VTU Mangaluru Zone Kho Kho tournament held at SIT, Mangaluru on 28 February 2020.

7. College Volleyball men’s team were champions in both VTU Inter Collegiate Mangaluru Zone and Inter Zone Volleyball tournament organized by VCET, Puttur on 5 March 2020 and SDMCE, Dharwad through 9 - 10 March 2020.

8. College Volleyball women’s team were the champions in VTU Inter Collegiate Rest of Bengaluru Zone Volleyball tournament held at JNNCE, Shivamogga on 12 March 2020 and qualified to participate in VTU Inter Zone tournaments KIT, Tipturthrough 14 - 15 March 2020. Due to Covid 19, the tournament was postponed.

Organization of the tournaments by the Department of Physical Education

1. VTU Power Lifting Men & Women teams’ coaching camp for its participation in All India Inter University competitions was conducted by NMAMIT through 15 – 20 January for women & 21 - 25 January 2020 for men at B.C. Alva memorial Indoor Stadium. 10 Power Lifters including 6 boys & 4 girls participated in the camp. The All India Inter University women competitions wereconducted at Mumbai University through 23 - 25 January 2020 and for men was held in same venue through 27 - 30 January 2020.

2. Nitte Khelostav 2020, an Inter Branch Games Competitions conducted through 9 – 11 January and the competition was inaugurated by Mr. Rajesh Acharya, Cricket Coach, Karavali Cricket Academy, Mangaluru at B. C Alva Sports Complex, Cricket Ground, Nitte. Dr. I Ramesh Mithanthaya, Vice Principal, NMAMIT presided over the function. Total 14 sports events conducted for the students of NMAMIT.

Dr. C Vaman Rao, Professor and HoD, Department of Biotechnology presented the prizes and trophies to the winners of Nitte Khelostav 2020 on 10 February 2020.Dr. Nirnjan N Chiplunkar, Principal, Dr. B Srinivas Rao, CoE and Vice Principal, NMAMIT and Mr. Shyam Sundar M, Sports Administrator, NET graced the occasion. Department of Mechanical Engineering secured the overall Championship in the Inter Branch Games competition in the Khelostav 2020.

3. The 34th College Annual Sports Day was conducted on 22 January 2020 at B.C. Alva Sports Complex Athletics Ground, Nitte. Dr. Veena Kumari B.K., Principal, Dr. NSAM FGC, Nitte inaugurated the meet. More than 3,000 students and staff participated in the march past. Mr. Chinthan K.C., VIII sem, Civil and Ms. Medha S., II Sem, C.S. secured individual Championship in men and women section.

1. Mr. Pradeep Kumar and Mr. Chandra Prakash K.R., VIII Sem/Mech., Ms. Pratheeksha P., VI Sem/Civil, and Ms. Nidhi V. Nonda, VI Sem/CS, the College Yogasana experts represented VTU Yogasana Men and women Team in All India Inter University Yogasana competition held at University of Madras, Chennai through 4 - 8 February 2019.

2. Mr. H.R.Harshith Pawar and Mr. Vivek Kamath K, VIII Sem/ Mech., represented VTU Power lifting team and participated in the All India Inter University Power Lifting Championship held at University of Calicut, Kerala through 17 - 23 February 2019

3. Ms. Ankitha B S, VIII Sem/ISE represented VTU Softball team and participated in All India Inter University Soft Ball competition held at University of Calicut, Kerala through 2 - 5 March 2019.

4. College Cross Country men and women team have won the Overall Championship in VTU Inter Collegiate competitions organized by Anjuman Institute of Technology, Bhatkal on 26 & 27 February 2019. The team also won the

  • Team Championship in women section.
  • Team Runner UP in men section.
  • Ms. Jyothi, IV Sem/MBA secured the Best Runner award in the competition
  • 5. Mr. Hemanshu M Hegde, VIII Sem/MEC, represented in VTU Kick Boxing team and won Silver medal in the All India Inter University Kick Boxing men’s competition held at Andhra University, Visakhapatnam through 8 - 11 March 2019.

    6. College Kho Kho men's team were the Runner Up in VTU Inter Collegiate Mangaluru Zone Kho Kho tournament organized by VCET, Puttur on 2 March 2019.

    7. College Volley Ball men’s team were the Champions in the VTU inter Collegiate Mangaluru Zone Volley Ball Competition held at Alva’s IET, Moodbidri on 7 March 2019. The team also won the II Runner up Trophy in the VTU Inter Zone Volley Ball competition held at RLJ Institute of Technology, Chikkaballapura on 12 & 13 March 2019

    8. College Volley Ball Women team won the Championship in both VTU Rest of Bengaluru Zone and Inter Zone Volley Ball competitions conducted by NMAMIT from 17 to 19 March 2019. Ms. Tripthi & Ms. Prathvi R Shetty secured best all-rounder award and best passer award respectively in the tournament.

    9. College Cricket men’s team won the Championship in the VTU Inter Collegiate Mangaluru Zone Cricket tournament organized by Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, on 19 March 2019.

    10. College Men’s Hand Ball team were Champions in VTU Mangaluru Zone Hand Ball Men tournament organized by SMVITM, Bantakal on 2 & 3 April 2019 & Runner Up in VTU Inter Zone Hand Ball Men tournament organized by Nagarjuna College of Engineering & Technology, Bengaluru on 8 & 9 April 2019.

    11. College Women Hand Ball team won the II Runner Up in VTU Rest of Bengaluru Zone Hand Ball women tournament organized by Malnad College of Engg., Hassan on 27 & 28 March 2019 and Runner Up Trophy in VTU Inter Zone women Hand Ball tournament conducted by BMSCE, Bengaluru on 30 March 2019.

    12. College Women Basket Ball team won Champion in VTU Rest of Bengaluru Zone women Basket Ball tournament organized by BLDEACET, Vijayapur on 8 & 9 April 2019 & IV place in VTU Inter Zone women Basket Ball tournament organized by GAT, Bengaluru on 10 & 11 April 2019.

    13. College Men Hockey team were Runner Up in VTU Mangaluru Zone Hockey men tournament organized by NMAMIT on 11 April 2019.

    14. College Men Ball Badminton team won the Championship in VTU Rest of Bengaluru Zone and IV Place in Inter Zone Ball Badminton Men tournament organized by RLJIT, Doddaballapura on 25 & 26 April 2019.

    15. College Chess teams, both men & women were the champions in Rest of Bengaluru Zone and Women team were Champions and men Runner Up in the Inter Zone held at SJMIT, Chitradurga from 18 to 22 August 2019.

    16.College Badminton teams secured Championship in VTU Inter Collegiate Mangaluru Zone Badminton men & women tournaments organized by NMAMIT on 24 & 25 August 2019 in B. C. Alva Memorial Indoor Stadium, Nitte. The Men team secured IV place and Women team secured III place in VTU Inter Zone Badminton men & women tournaments organized by SJM Institute of Technology, Chitradurga from 27 to 29 August 2019.

    17. College Wrestling men's team were Champions and Judo men's team were the Runner Up in VTU Single Zone Wrestling & Judo men in the competitions organized by SJC Institute of Technology, Chikabalapur on 6 & 7 September 2019.

    20. College Swimming men team secured IV Place in team championship with silver medals in 4 x 100 mts. relay and 4 x 200 mts. relay events in VTU Single Zone Swimming competitions conducted by MSRIT, Bengaluru, on 18 September 2019.

    1. Nitte Kreedotsava, an Inter-Collegiate sports and games competitions, conducted on 25 & 26 January 2019 at B.C. Alva Memorial Basket Ball court, Nitte. The tournament was inaugurated by Dr. Sankaran K., Director, Justice K.S. Hegde Institute of Management, Nitte with the presence of Dr. Niranjan N. Chiplunkar, Principal, NMAMIT, Dr. Murali Krishna V., Professor, Dept. of Anaesthesiology, KSHEMA and Sports Advisor, Nitte University (Deemed to University) and Mr. Shyam Sundar M., Sports Administrator, NET. Sri. Aravind Hegde, Special Officer, NMAMIT presided over the function.

    2. 33rd College Annual Sports Day 2019 was conducted on 30 January 2019 at B.C. Alva Sports Complex Athletics Field, Nitte. The meet was inaugurated by Dr. Sudeer Raj K., Professor, Justice K.S. Hegde Institute of Management, Nitte with the presence of Dr. Niranjan N. Chiplunkar, Principal, Prof. Yogeesh Hegde, Registrar, NET, Dr. I.R. Mithanthaya, Vice Principal & Dean Academics, Dr. Srinivas B. Rao, and Vice Principal & CoE. More than 3,500 staff & students participated in the march Past which was conducted before the inauguration. Mr. Mohammed Ali, IV Sem, Civil and Ms. Jyothi, IV Sem, MBA secured the individual championship in men & women section respectively.
    Department of Electronics and Communication emerged the Overall Championship in inter branch game competitions 2019.

    3. VTU Inter Collegiate Rest of Bengaluru Zone and Inter Zone Volley Ball women tournaments were conducted from 17 to 19 March 2019 in Volley Ball courts near B.C. Alva Memorial indoor stadium, Nitte. The tournament was inaugurated by Mrs. Radha Prabhu, Principal, DR. NSAM English Medium High School, Nitte. Dr. Niranjan N. Chiplunkar, Principal, NMAMIT presided over the function. Total 12 women teams for Rest of Bengaluru Zone and 7 teams for Inter Zone affiliated to VTU took participated in the tournament.

    In the Closing function , Sri. Vishwanath, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Humanities and Sri. Roshan Fernendes, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Computer Science distributed the trophies and certificates to the winners and runners of VTU Rest of Bengaluru Zone Volley Ball Women tournament,

    4. VTU Inter Collegiate Mangaluru Zone Foot Ball Men tournament was conducted by the Department of Physical Education, NMAMIT on 21 & 22 March 2019 at B.C. Alva Sports Complex Foot ball Field, Nitte. The tournament was inaugurated by Sri. Shekar Poojari, Student Welfare Officer, NMAMIT, Dr. Niranjan N. Chiplunkar, Principal, NMAMIT presided over the function. 17 Foot Ball teams affiliated to VTU Mangaluru Zone participated in the tournament.

    In the Closing function, Dr. Srinath Shetty, Resident Engineer, NET and Professor, Departement of Civil Engineering presented the trophies and certificates to the winners and runners of VTU Mangaluru Zone.

    5. VTU Mangaluru Zone Hockey Men tournament was conducted by Department of Physical Education and Sports on 11 & 12 April 2019. The tournament was inaugurated by Dr. Sudesh Bekal, Dean, Research and Development, NMAMIT. 7 teams participated in the 2-day competition.

    6. B.C. ALVA MEMORIAL TROPHY 2019, a state level inter collegiate leather Ball Staff Cricket tournament was conducted from 1 to 12 May 2019 at B.C. Alva complex, Nitte. A total of 11 teams participated in the tournament.

    7. Visvesvaraya Technological University Inter Collegiate Mangaluru Zone men and women Badminton tournaments conducted by NMAMIT, Nitte on 24 August 2019. Total 11 teams participated in the tournaments under Mangaluru Zone colleges affiliated to VTU.

    The tournament was inaugurated by Dr. Veena Devi Shastrimath V, President, Rotary Club Nitte & Professor in Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, NMAMIT, Nitte .Dr. Niranjan N. Chiplunkar, Principal, NMAMIT, Nitte presided over the function. Prof. A Yogeesh Hegde, Registrar, Nitte Education Trust, Mr. Krishnaraja Joisa, PRO, Mr. Shyam Sundar M, Sports Administrator I/C were present during the occasion.

    NMAMIT both men & women teams secured Championship Trophies in the tournament. In the closing function Dr. Shashikanth Karinka, Prof.& HoD, Department of Mechanical Engineering , NMAMIT, Nitte and Mr. Muralidhara Sharma, Ex.     The tournament was inaugurated by Prof. S. Gopinath, Advisor, NMAMIT, Nitte at 9.30 AM. Dr. Niranjan N. Chiplunkar, Principal, NMAMIT, Nitte presided over the function.

    NMAMIT men team secured Championship and MITE, Moodabidri secured Runner Up in the tournament. In the closing function Mr. Shyam Sundar M, Sports Administrator, NET & Mr. Ravi Prakash C Anpur, Basketball Coach, NET distributed the Trophies and Certificates to the winners and runners.

    9. VTU Cross Country Men & Women teams coaching camp for its participation in All India Inter University competitions was organized by NMAMIT from 29 September to 4 October 2019 & 4 to 7 October 2019 respectively at B.C. Alva Sports Complex Athletics Field. 12 Cross Country Runners including 6 boys & 6 girls participated in the camp. The All India Inter University men competition was conducted at Mangaluru University at Alva’s Education Foundation, Moodabidri on 5 & 6 October 2019 & women’s competition was held at Andra University, Vishakpattnam on 10 October 2019.

    10. Visvesvaraya Technological University Inter Collegiate Single Zone Power Lifting men and women competitions conducted by NMAMIT, Nitte on 30 & 31 October 2019. A Total of 107 men and 46 women participants participated in the competitions.

    The competition was inaugurated by Sri Sathish Kumar Kudroli, Ekalavya Awardee,Secretary, Power Lifting India.Dr. Niranjan N. Chiplunkar, Principal, NMAMIT, Nitte presided over the function. Prof. A Yogeesh Hegde, Registrar, Nitte Education Trust , Nitte, Sri Shyam Sundar M., Sports Administrator, NET, Sri. Sharavanan, Regional Director, Bangaluru South were present during the occasion.

    In the closing function Dr. Niranjan N. Chiplunkar, Principal, NMAMIT, Sri Sathish Kumar Kudroli distributed the Trophies and Certificates to the prize winners.
